A Stir in the Forest

I had this idea of painting a female satyr who was serenely playing melodic tunes with her hand crafted wooden flute. She is accompanied by her friend a "greeble" when suddenly they are startled by the sound of a twig snapping near by. That's the moment I wanted to capture. Of alertness but not of over reaction.

Lizard and Bird - Acrylic Rebirth

Hey everyone. It's been a busy time since I've been back from the Imaginism In-house Workshop and I've finally found some time to put this piece I started there to finality. It's not my first painting in acrylics ( I actually started off in traditional mediums like oils, watercolors, and acrylics when I was around the age of 11 ), but I do consider it to be my "spark" back into the world of traditional painting again.

I learned a lot during the process and the painting is by no means flawless in any way but I have to let it go and begin on a new piece with all the added knowledge I've acquired.

Big shout out and thanks to Thierry " T-bear" Lafontaine for all his input and guidance.

Below is the final and I've added an image of the steps I took in creating this painting.

Hey everyone! I've been swamped lately with several different projects. Now that I have most out of the way I should be posting more regularly and I'm actually almost finished my acrylic piece! Stay tuned for that. Sorry for the delay but December has been crazy. Here's the description for this new piece:

Every few decades, sometimes centuries, this massive creature awakens out of hibernation from it's mysterious underground dwelling. The local peoples of the dry dessert celebrate as the behemoth guides them to the ever fleeting source of water.

Hey everyone. Here's a quick pen sketch I splashed some color on today. Every now and then you get hit with some massive inspiration and that's the case here. I sketched this very very early in the morning while pulling an all nighter to get some work done. My deadlines have been keeping me from getting more personal work done but that's good! It's one of the goals I suppose of an early aspiring artist. Completion time about 1.5 hours with a break from sketch to coloring.

Bananas Are Good for You

Hey everyone. I wanted to show some prints that I received today that were done on canvas. These were commissioned pieces and are being shipped out this week. The beach one is 18 x 24 inches and the sunset one is 24 x 48 inches. They frame really great! If anyone has any questions or requests just let me know and I'll check my schedule. Oh yeah, if anyone is wondering about the bananas, I found that if you eat about 5 - 12 a day you can paint pretty darn good. Take care! Love Googs.

My idea for this piece was to depict an elite female warrior from the future. She's longing for home or her ride back home...maybe from a mission? Her weapon is an electro-magnetic bow which shoots energy "arrows" when combined with her mechanical wrist controller. Done in photoshop and art rage.

King by his own hand

Inspired by the latest movie Rise of the Planet of the Apes I decided to make this piece. My idea was to have an albino gorilla take control of the apes using mostly cunning and strength although he's not quite the size of a great silver back.

The Ancient One

Here's a piece I did for a drawing and painting challenge over at CgHUB....it was pretty fun to do. Here's the story behind it:

The Ancient One is a creature of great mystery as it has only been seen a handful of times. It gracefully roams the highest peaks of the planet Opriax which is mostly arid deserts and rainforests. It is an ellusive creature that can reach incredible speeds in the most precarious locations. Records show that this creature has appeared in all ancient lore stretching many different cultures and tongues. It has never been captured, and never have its remains been found. Some say this creature is the planet’s guardian. Some say it has telepathic powers.

We may never know...
